Fun in the Sun!

So, this past weekend I went swimming and decided to lay out in hopes of getting some color. I always seem to underestimate the power of the sun. High hopes of getting a nice summer glow turned into me looking like a lobster! Not only is it terrible for your skin, but it is also such an uncomfortable feeling to have sunburn. You get the chills, your skin feels like it's bubbling, it feels itchy and the peeling! Don't even get me started on the peeling!

With that being said here a few tips on keeping cool this summer!

1)   Alter your diet. What you eat and drink can help keep you cool as well. Stock your freezer with flavored ice treats. Freeze a bag of chopped fruit such as watermelon, pineapple or lemons.

2) Sleep cooler. If the heat is keeping you from resting at night. Use silk or satin pillowcases, and sateen sheets. These fabrics will feel smoother and cooler as you sleep.

3) Run your wrists under a cold tap water for five seconds each every couple of hours. Because a main vein passes through this area, it helps cool the blood.

4) Women should replace their usual body moisturiser with a cooling aloe vera aftersun product to use morning and night. This will help lower your skin temperature.

5) Sit back, close your eyes and picture snow. Research has shown that the body reacts to these daydreams, reducing its overall temperature.
